The Economic Justice Network has commissioned six women and two men that are active members of cross border traders’ associations in Mozambique (Maputo) and Malawi (Blantyre), but who have never before worked with cameras to document their travels and work over the next few months. They are equipped with one easy-to-use digital camera each and during short workshops they were will learn how to use the camera and thoroughly discuss what they want to do as participants of the project. At the end of seven to eight weeks their pictures and stories will be collected and, in close cooperation with the participants, a unique photographic exhibition will be created. The exhibition will feature stories about the life of the participants, their families, worries, happy moments, work, spare time and bureaucracy. It is an exhibition about cross border traders, by cross border traders, for cross border traders, as well as for anybody else that cares about human stories. Along with the photographic exhibition a short film about the project will also be produced.
