Why faith-based organizations campaign for food security

“Comfort for the poor” is the title of this newspaper article, written for the Mail and Guardian by Rev. Malcolm Damon. EJN’s Executive Director explains the reality of hunger in Africa and the steps EJN, as a faith-based organization, has taken to raise awareness and advocate around this issue. Emphasis was made on food being a right and not a privilege. Furthermore, he re-states EJN’s call for SADC governments to stay committed to their promise to eradicate hunger and poverty. This was agreed when governments signed the Millennium Development Goals.
