The research aims at critiquing the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) in the context of development targets outlined in the Millen­nium Declaration of the United Nations, particularly Goal number 8. It also aims to unveil the divergences and convergences of EPAs with government policies that aim to achieve the eighth goal. The research involved an analysis of what SADC governments have put in place for them to achieve the eighth millennium development goal. The paper then evaluates whether the EPAs are one of the means to achieve Global partnerships for Development.
